What customers say?

“ I spent a few months in Indonesia about 20 years ago..I've had some serious cravings for it and never meet my needs. This by far met my needs for a good nasi kunig and gado gado. It was just so good. I'll definitely drive the hour to go again. ”

“ If you're craving Indonesian in Calgary, Nila's is a must. I try to make a point of visiting Nila's every year whenever I visit, whether it's buying their sambal (vegetarian or pescetarian) or their tempeh. Now they have more appetizers and vegetarian options in their freezed goods offerings. They'll also heat or air fry at the store depending on what you get from the freezer. In terms of menu items, they've got specials on rotation, while they have a nice selection of regulars, like the kari ayam or the rendant. This time around I had the Mie Ayam, or the tossed noodles with chicken, wontons, fish balls and soup on the side. I asked them to mix it with sambal first and then add some more sambal on the side. It was delicious. The shredded chicken was still tender, juicy, and sweetened just enough by either kecap manis, or their own version of it. The sambal is spicy, but not sharp. It lingers and builds up and allows for the depth of flavors to shine. Best part of having soup on the side? Adding the rest of the juices to the soup and slurping it all up in the end. These folks deserve their expansion! Must visit. ”

“ It's first time to try Indonesia style food even I visited the mall many times. It tasted great and was eaten quickly. Other guests nearby were also full of praise. Everyone enjoyed the food at the restaurant. The other photos are of Taiwanese food provided by other side restaurant, which I don't particularly like. ”

“ I ordered Nasi Padang from Nila’s for the first time and it was a great experience. The food was top notch — really flavorful and satisfying. I also bought some sambal, which was amazing and goes well with everything. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, and I’m already looking forward to the next time they prepare Nasi Padang so I can order again. Definitely recommended! ”

“ Updated: They expanded their shop and have more Indonesian appetizers like risol, kroket, tahu isi, mie goreng, lumpia, etc. Love this place so much! I’ve been craving for chicken noodle for years and this is the place to go and fulfill it. ”

“ First time trying Nilas and it was very satisfying! Food: tried the beef rendang. The beef was flavourful and tender but a bit dry, could have used more sauce. Coconut rice was plentiful and perfectly cooked. Gado gado salad was fresh and the dressing was tasty. Slightly bigger portion of beef and less dry would have made this 5 star for me. Service: very friendly and prompt. Meal was ready in minutes. Atmosphere: stall itself was modest, and the seating area in the food court was eclectic and plentiful. Relatively clean after the prime time lunch rush. People were friendly and open to sharing tables. Price/Value: overall decent value for quality these days. Slightly more beef by even 1-2 pieces would have made it ideal. I’ll definitely be coming back to try other dishes, the chicken satay and the noodle soups also caught my eye. Would recommend to others. ”

“ Had the Laksa, it was so good! Very flavorful without being too strong. I also like the kind of noodles they use, nice and chewy. Good amount of toppings. Hope it's always on the menu as I would like to order again when I come back to the Farmer's market. This is now my favorite laksa! ”

“ Discovered Nila’s a couple months ago and have been coming back with my husband once a week on Sundays to have their nasi goreng It is so authentic and is the epitome of comfort food. The shredded chicken is always tender and the spice just right! The peanut sauce is to die for. Thank you Nila’s!! ”
